Gurgaon Police
BRIEF: To unveil the face of the lucky mascot Traffic Tau for the campaign of “Respect the Road” (for Gurugram police) and conduct a road safety campaign.
VENUE: As Gurugram is a city of youth, we decided on an elderly Haryanavi man with a handlebar moustache. We named our mascot “Traffic Tau” as it had an essence of respect in the regional dialect.
A press conference with the Police’s top brass
including CP, ACP, JCP of Gurugram kickstarted the campaign along with creating
billboards, conveying the message of road safety via street plays “nukkad natak” and
one on one interaction by our volunteers.
Various policemen dressed up as Tau on
the busy intersections of Gurugram to spread the message of road safety, much to the
surprise and joy of the general public.
If there ever was an example of participative engagement by Police & public to drive
home a message, this was one
RESPONSE: Days of meticulous planning, seeking authorization, and abiding by every
protocol with consent, in coordination with police, resulted in one of the most eye
catchy campaigns done on Road Safety. It garnered a lot of positive response from
the administration, general public & press.
Traffic Tau became an instant hit.
